The Ilocos Norte government is seeking more ambulances from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan unanimously approved a resolution authorizing Governor Ma. Imelda Josefa Marcos to request for six units of ambulance. Sponsored by the committee on health and sanitation, the PCSO requires Draft Provincial Resolution 2018-02- in compliance to the provisions of the Local Government Code. According to SP member Rogelio Balbag, most of the service ambulances of all district hospitals in the province are already dilapidated and non-functional hence the need for replacement the soonest possible time. Local government units here recognize the existence of a reliable and functional ambulance is important, not only to hospitals or any medical facilities, but to the whole society as they can use them to save lives during emergencies.
