With the assistance of the Ilocos Norte provincial government, The “Mango King” Ricardo Tolentino and his association of mango growers here formed a task force to contain the spread of “kurikong.” “Kurikong” is the damage caused by cecid flies to green mangoes. Based on initial report, some affected areas already include the towns of Currimao, Batac, Nueva Era, Banna and Dingras in Ilocos Norte’s second district.
