Six Ilocos Norte government employees were ordered detained by the House of Representative’s committee on good government and public accountability after they were all cited for “contempt.” The said Capitol employees were asked to answer several questions from the House committee chaired by Rep. Johnny Pimentel (Surigao del Sur, 2nd district) to shed light on the ongoing probe of alleged misuse of tobacco funds in Ilocos Norte but said employees repeatedly told the investigating committee, they could not recall receiving millions in cash advances or authorizing the release of funds for the purchase of various vehicles in 2011 and 2012.
