First Ilocos Norte spanish encounter Juan de Salcedo reconnoiters Laoag river.

1589

First recorded Ilocano rebellion takes place in Dingras and Batac whose inhabitants revolt against paying high tributes.

1699
People of Paoay with their parish priest commence construction of their church.

1773
People of Bacarra with their parish priest construct two irrigation canals.

1807
People of Piddig lead a revolt against the government monopoly of basi.

1815
Ordinary citizens of Sarrat revolt against the town elite because of unfair practices.

1818
Creation of the Province of Ilocos Norte.

1882
Government abolishes the tobacco monopoly.

1902

Virtually all Ilocos Norte clergy join the Iglesia Filipina Independiente.

1999
Museo Ilocos Norte opens; the history continues.
