2016, June 20

A newly-constructed two-storey rural health unit was inaugurated on June 20 to provide better health care services to local residents here. Located at the eastern part of the old municipal hall, the new RHU is equipped with laboratory, pharmacy and dental clinic. To improve maternal and new born health, the facility also provides neonatal, post-natal and pediatric care through a specialized labor and birthing room for pregnant women, including geriatric care for adults. In support to the National TB Program (NTP) to address tuberculosis which remains as a major public health problem in the country,  the Sarrat RHU now provides a short-course treatment and care to patients diagnosed with tuberculosis.
