PENRO leads planting of 2,000 trees in Paoay

Around 2, 000 tree seedlings and saplings of different species were planted during the massive tree planting at Paoay Lake National Park in Paoay, Ilocos Norte to protect and nurture Ilocos Norte’s environmental landscapes here.

Held June 25 in time for the environment month celebration in the province, the tree-planting activity was participated by 21 government and nongovernment organizations which took place around the Paoay Lake National Park (PLNP), specifically in Barangays Nanguyudan and Sungadan. The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), which lead the event, is taking moves to push environmental sustainability in the province, in line with the national government’s Millennium Development Goals.

Ilocos Norte Water District (INWD), one of the organizations which participated in the activity get to plant around 200 mahogany saplings near the INWD area located in Barangay Sungadan.
