The department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has cited the Ilocos Norte, Laoag and Batac Cities as among the top 30 as top performing local government units for CY 2010 The 30 LGUs composed of 20 cities and 10 provinces which garnered high scores in the department’s Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPS), a web-based, self assessment tool that measures the LGU performance in key governance areas and provides information on the status of LGUs in terms of local governance and development.
