A school-based choral has captivated an international audience to bag gold medals in two categories in the First International Choral Competitions in Hoi An, Vietnam held from March 16 to 20, 2011. The Samiweng Singers, a choral group of the Ilocos Norte National High School, got the gold in the children’s choir category and the sacred music category under the direction of choir founder Robert Caluya and coconductor Sherberk Cabrales.
