MANDALUYONG CITY, Metro Manila—Indigenous materials including corn ear leaves, dried fruits from wild trees that grow in Ilocos Norte’s farmlands and forests were used in designing Ilocos Norte’s exhibit display at the 20th Philippine Travel Mart and which wowed thousands of local and foreign viewers here.

Adorned with Ilocos Norte’s local products like abel, garlic, basi, vinegar, wild fruit wines as well as natural resources such as pebbles, salt and others, the exhibit also displayed mounted photographs of the province’s historical, scenic and man-made attractions, including informative materials packaged in tourism brochures and leaflets, the Ilocos Norte exhibit display later earned the highest votes from judges as it emerged as the overall winner in the exhibit competition under the provincial category.
