SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte – More and more church lots are being converted into commercial establishments, causing worry to some Catholics here in Ilocos Norte. In a two-page manifesto signed by local parishioners of San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, retired fiscal Manuel Aurelio said parishioners like him are not comfortable with the proposed establishment of a giant commercial mall on the site of the old church convent, which may also include the eastern side of the original building of the Santa Rosa Academy.
