The 80-yearl old Laoag Central Elementary School building located at the heart of Laoag City is “an authentic Gabaldon style school building,” National Historical Institute (NHI) chairperson Ambeth Ocampo said in a certification recently issued.

The NHI certification was issued on January 21 and it also stated that “While it is not a declared national historical landmark, we strongly encourage the provincial and local government to conserve and preserve this structure and we are committed to send technical support if required.”
