Typhoon Igme (international name: Mindulle), with winds up to 210 kph, ripped through Laoag City and the province. The Signal No. 4 storm left 9 people dead, 13 injured and one person missing, along with P99.6 million worth of damages to agriculture and infrastructure. Dingras, the province’s rice granary, was particularly affected when a number of its barangays were inundated. The circumferential road of the Laoag City Terminal Crumbled revealing that steel bars and not been used.
