The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte received the widest hybrid rice plantation award during the First National Year of Rice festivities held at the Narciso O. Ramos Sports Complex in Pangasinan. It was confirmed that the province had 210 well-irrigated hectares planted to hybrid rice, yielding an average 7.99 metric tons of rice per hectare during the dry season.
