The Supreme Court of the Philippines, in a case filed by Fr. Jorge Barlin of Naga (Camarines Sur), issues a ruling recognizing the Roman Catholic Church as the original owner of properties which had been taken from it since 1902. This sets the return of all relevant properties held by the Iglesia Filipina Independiente to the Roman Catholic Church. [Scharpf]
