With the installation of new equipment, Laoag International Airport (LIA) manager Ronald Estabillo is hopeful that the airport will soon be Aerodrome certified. Aerodrome and Air Navigation Safety Oversight Office (AANSOO) conducted a five-day Aerodrome Certification and Audit Plan for LIA. AANSOO audit team leader Engr. Nephtalie Velasco said all international airports should now meet all the standard requirements set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the issuance of Aerodrome Certificate.
