Adams Vice Mayor Eric Bawingan was shot inside his house, but he was able to fire back, killing his attacker, the police said. Mr. Bawingan and his family were at the kitchen watching television when the gunman, Adams resident Jaime “Jhun” Valencia, barged in and shot the vice mayor in the chest. Although injured, Mr. Bawingan was able to shoot back at Mr. Valencia, killing him on the spot, said P/Sr. Insp. Samson Amistad, Adams police chief.
