Typhoon “Mario” (Fung Wong) with storm warning signal no. 2 left million of pesos worth of damages in agriculture, infrastructure and forced hundreds of families to flee their homes in the province. Dept. of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas along with Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas and party arrive in the province to assure Ilocanos that help of typhoon victims. A C130 plane of the Philippine Air Force containing over 3,000 food packs from the national headquarters of the DSWD arrived in Laoag City to assist about 6,698 families affected by typhoon.
