Burgos – The first Pul-oy Festival was held on February 25-28 as a thanksgiving for God’s abundant blessings, turning Burgos town into a vibrant, self-reliant and progressive municipality. “Pul-oy” is an Ilokano word which means “breeze”, a gentle breeze which is characterized by the town’s climate induced by the northwest monsoon during the months of September to February of every year.
The three-day festival featured a floral and dance parade, “sala ti pul-oy” (folk dance competition), Burgos got talent” and wreath laying ceremony in honor of Fr. Jose A. Burgos, the martyred priest whom the town got its name and ended with the coronation of Miss Burgos.
