Laoag City General Hospital acquires new CT scan

LCGH rates reduced

THE LAOAG City government announced that the Laoag City General Hospital (LCGH) has acquired the most advanced and sophisticated 64 slices CT scan, the first in Northern Luzon.

Laoag Vice Mayor Michael V. Fariñas thanked Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office chairperson Margarita Juico for the P24 million grant used for the acquisition of this high-tech CT scan for the city.

Fariñas, who is the main proponent of this new equipment when he was still the mayor, said this is a part of his dream aside from the upgrading of the city hospital.

He also took the opportunity to appeal to all the people behind the success of the city hospital to take good care of this facility since this is not only his dream but the people as well despite many criticisms when the plans for the upgrading was unveiled.

Laoag Mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas also thanked the PCSO chairperson, who was represented by her son PCSO chief of staff Vincent Juico, for this new state-of-the-art CT scan.

The mayor believes that this should not been realized without the initiative and courage of her husband.

With this new equipment, the mayor said that more people would be able to avail more health services not only for people of the province also from those in nearby provinces.

Relative to this, the mayor took the opportunity to request the PCSO chief of staff for more medical equipment and the establishment of a PCSO satellite office at the city hospital.

In a mini press conference after the simple inauguration program, the mayor assured a first-come-first-serve basis for the new equipment whether it would be indigent or not.

LCGH chief of hospital Dr. Francis Dacuycuy also announced about 48 patients are in line to avail the free trial for the said CT scan, particularly indigents from the whole province.

Dacuycuy said the 64 slices CT scan is more detailed and has highly specialized examination procedures.

He added that the city hospital will be offering 30 percent discount for PCSO patients that are referred to the city hospital, 20 percent discount for senior citizens and another 20 percent discount to indigents.
