Vintar – If the indigenous people of Carasi town is okay to mining, the local community here is divided.

This is why local town officials led by Vintar Mayor Jose G. Foronda in cooperation with multi-sectoral groups has been reaching out to far flung villages here to educate more people about the effects of mining should they allow mining firms entry to their villages. Foronda and the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vintar Vice Mayor Ferdinand Mabanag approved an urgent resolution stating the municipality does not favor destructive mining activity here.
