Gov. Imee unveils new IN corporate seal

This is the statement embodied in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Ordinance No.30-2011 entitled “Adopting a New Official Seal of the Province of Ilocos Norte after Gov. Imee R. Marcos pushed for the modification of the official seal of the provincial government of Ilocos Norte.”

Through the approval of Ilocos Norte Gov. Ma. Imelda “Imee” R. Marcos and the concurrence of the
Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Ilocos Norte on its 46th regular session at the Provincial Capitol on June 13, 2011, the provincial board members have unanimously approved the suggested changes made in the provincial seal.

The new Official Seal as modified, thus, includes the replica of the famous Paoay (St. Augustine) Church, the shores of Bangui, the Windmills, the Patapat Viaduct and the new insignia has retained from the old seal the image of garlic, rice stalks, and tobacco leaves which stand for the province’s agricultural industry and food self- sufficiency; 1818 as the founding year of the Province; and the designated provincial shield for Ilocos Norte.
